TAYLORVILLE — The Breeze-Courier is set to get a new look in the form of a new website. The website will still have all the daily content on it like before, but will have a fresh new look for our read- ers. The new website will be available for subscribers on Thursday morning, July 1, 2021.
Customers may still use the same website address (www.breezecouri- er.com) to access content. The new website server will have all current subscriber information sent to them and subscribers should be able to log in with their current user name and password. In addition, subscribers that currently use the mobile app will no longer have access to that, as the new provider does not support an app process.
“While we realize the dele- tion of the App may be con- cerning for folks, we feel the new website will be able to fulfill that need. It will look a little different, but the end result is the same. Our cus- tomers are used to seeing a PDF page that looks just like the written page and they will still be able to get that, just in a different way. Instead of accessing it on their phone as a mobile App, they would login to our web- site and the PDF pages will be listed under the Latest E- Edition Tab. When you click on the E-edition (PDF) you will be able to scroll through the pages of the newspaper just like on the App. Customers can also ‘book- mark’ our website on their home computer, iPad, or other mobile device and still be able to have quick access to it. Without getting too technical, the old App was technically not an App to begin with, although it looked like one. When we uploaded the PDF pages to our old website, the ‘App”’had a back door access to those PDF pages. It was really a PDF reader disguised to look like an App because that is what customers were used to using,” said Kim Paisley-Jones, Breeze- Courier General Manager.
“We do understand that change can be difficult for everyone. Our staff has had to adjust to a lot of change, too. We are in a learning process like everyone else and we appreciate our cus- tomer’s patience as we work through the bugs. Should anyone have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to call the office at 217-824-2233 or send an email to breezenews@breeze- courier.com. We will do our best to help you. If we don’t know the answer right away, we will find one for you,” said Paisley-Jones.
