Taylorville City Council Meeting
There will be a City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building.
Agenda includes: Invocation, pledge of allegiance, roll call, Youth of the Month, Approval of minutes of regular meeting June 21, 2021, minutes of the Street and Sewer Committee Meeting held June 24, 2021, minutes of the Emergency Services Committee meeting held July 1, 2021, minutes of the personnel committee meeting held July 1, 2021. Smalltown Taylorville Update, Ordinance – approving and authorizing the execution of a Business Development District No. 1 Redevelopment Agreement by and between City of Taylorville, Illinois and M&B Investment Holdings, LLC. Motion to reconsider and/or approve Ordinance – Amending Paragraph D. of Section 3-3-13 of Chapter 3 of Title 3 of the
Taylorville City Code (re: Allowing designated drive-up facilities for the sale and delivery of alcoholic beverages in their original unopened containers), Ordinance – Amending Paragraph I. of Section 8-5-4 of Chapter 5, Title 8 of the Taylorville City Code (re: Liability of property owner for building sewer repairs). Resolution – re: Conveyance of 828 W. Vandeveer St. Property to Taylorville CUSD #3, Resolution – re: Ameren Underground Electric Easement – service to 1935 Eastwood Drive, Resolution – re: Master Lease Agreement with TFPD. Motion to direct the City Attorney to pre- pare an Ordinance to amend the City Code to place a four-way stop sign at 1100 North 1500 East Road with the approval of the Locust Township Commissioner, motion to approve Engineering Services for DCEO Rebuild Illinois Public Infrastructure Grant Program for East Main Cross Street Improvement Project, Motion to modify and terminate the bid contract for Ward III- Franklin Street Storm Sewer Project between the City of Taylorville, Greene and Bradford, and Phil Tullis Excavating, removing $10, 500 for Bituminous Treatment of Franklin Street, motion to approve the restructuring and payment terms for Bond refi- nancing, motion and/or motions regarding the Illinois Municipal League Congerence, motion to
bid and/or advertise Working Foreman position in the Cemetery Department, City Attorney updates, Mayor updates. Committee Reports: Street and Sewer – Motion to recommend to the City Council to approve the engineering study to be done by Benton & Associates for the Wal Mart Lift station pump upgrade, Personnel – Motion to recom- mend to the city council to accept resignation of Assistant Fire Chief Cody Rogers, Motion to recommend to the city council to amend City Code to allow non- Bargaining Employees to live within 6.5 mile radius of the Courthouse, Motion to recom- mend to the city council to bid and/or advertise a Full-time Dispatcher in the Police Department, Motion to recom- mend to the city council to hire two Police Officers for Academy, Motion to recommend to the city council to raise the salary of the Street and Sewer superintendent by 5%, Motion to recommend to the city council to bid and/or advertise three Laborers in the Street Department, Motion to recommend to the city council to amend the Employee Handbook Policy for return of all city prop- erty upon severance with set guidelines. Chief Wheeler to complete required upgrades to transition the two administration vehicles to fleet vehicles at a cost not to exceed $12,000. Motion to rec- ommend to the city council to allow Police Chief Wheeler to purchase two new vehicles and basic stop equipment at a cost not to exceed $49,100. Finance – Motion and/or motions from the July 6, 2021 Finance Committee meeting, motion to approve and/or ratify payment of bills ($209,843.88), and adjourn- ment.
Water/Environmental Committee, Lake/Airport Committee
There will be a meeting of the Water/Environmental and Lake/Airport Committees on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building in Taylorville.
Agenda includes: Monthly sta- tus report, purchase Swan Chlorine analyzer, purchase chlorine switchover assembly, water collection office update, water superintendent’s report, any other matters which may properly come before this com- mittee and adjournment.
