Larry G. Snyder

September 30, 1942 — July 2, 2021

Larry Glen Snyder, 78, of Raymond, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at 3:06 a.m. at HSHS St. Johnís Hospital in Springfield, Ill.

Born September 30, 1942 in Lincoln, Ill., a son of Myron and Maxine (Turner) Snyder. He was a graduate of Raymond High School, with the Class of 1960. He married the former Linda Louise Best on November 24, 1963 at the Wares Grove Lutheran Church, rural Butler, and she survives.

Mr. Snyder was a life long farmer. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church of rural Raymond, where he served as a Deacon over the years. He was an avid golfer and along with his wife, Linda, traveled and played golf with several couples that became life- long friends. He also enjoyed bowling. He was a faithful front row fan at all sporting events his grandkids were participating in, either for the New Berlin Pretzels or the Edwardsville Tigers. He was also in attendance at several dance recitals and cheer competitions. He was also a devoted St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

In addition to his wife Linda, Mr. Snyder is survived by: Three daughters; Risa (Ron) Kirkpatrick of Loami, Ill., Kara Luttrell (Sean Sheppard) of New Berlin, Ill., and Holly (Pat) Burns of Glen Carbon, Ill. Two Brothers; Tom ìDeanî (Norma) Snyder of Springfield, Ill., and Randy (Christa) Snyder of Raymond, Ill. Nine grandchildren; Skylar Smith, Kody (Ashley) Kirkpatrick, Peyton Kirkpatrick, Blaze and Jordan Luttrell, Shyanne Sheppard, Drew, Kade and Gannon Burns. Two great grandchildren: Christopher Smith and Kennedy Kirkpatrick. A sister-in-law, Mary Snyder of Raymond, Ill., and a brother-in-law, Larry Best of Florida. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Mr. Snyder in death are his parents and a brother, Jack Snyder.

Funeral services for Mr. Snyder will be conducted Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 19433 W. Frontage Rd., Raymond, Ill. The Rev. David Ziegenbein will officiate. Burial will be in the Wares Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Butler.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time-of-service Wednesday at the Church.

The family suggests memorials to please be directed to the Pleasant Hill Christian Church or to the Raymond/Harvel Ambulance Service.
