TAYLORVILLE — The Taylorville Kiwanis Club held its annual cookout at Kiwanis Park Pavilion Thursday night, and pre- sented scholarships to two Taylorville High School seniors.
Isabelle Norris of Palmer was present and received her $500 scholarship. According to her applica- tion, Norris is hoping to come out of college debt free and appreciated the Kiwanis scholarship.
The other scholarship winner, Markus Goodman of Taylorville, was not present. Goodman plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College this fall and major in engineer- ing.
Taylorville Kiwanis Club secretary Martin Vota presided at the meeting, and made the scholarship presentation to Norris.
The Taylorville Kiwanis Club is part of global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Weekly meetings are held Tuesdays at noon at the Taylorville Moose Lodge. For information on the club, go to taylorvillekiwanis.com.
