Stabbing suspect bond set at $100,000

TAYLORVILLE — A 25- year-old Taylorville man had his bond set at $100,000 in Christian County Circuit Court today, following an alleged stabbing incident which occurred in the 500 block of South Houston St. Sunday afternoon.

Logan Joseph Wilson appeared before Circuit Court Judge Douglas Jarman and Christian County State’s Attorney Michael Havera detailed the information surrounding the incident. Havera said the victim, Alex Riggs, was Wilson’s roommate and he got “sick of his roommate” which allegedly led to the stabbing.

Following the reading of the information, probable cause was found. Riggs was alleged stabbed in the neck, but no information about the condition of the victim was released. Public Defender Tiffany Senger was appointed counsel and first appearance with counsel is scheduled for July 19, 2021, in Christian County Court.

No other information on the incident was available from Taylorville police as of presstime today.

On the TPD Facebook page, there was an entry from Sunday which stated, “Active crime scene at Houston and Vandeveer. There was a stabbing and suspect is in custody. There is no ongoing threat to the public, this is an isolated incident.”
