The Taylorville Municipal Band invites you to a concert of uplifting music this Wednesday, July 14 at the Christian County Fairgrounds. The performance begins at 7:00 PM and it is free and open to the public.
Muni Band Director Chris Gunn says, “There is not a formal theme pulling the musical selections together this week, but on the whole the performance should leave the audience feeling positive.” Selections will include: Jubilant Prelude by Claude T. Smith; Seventy-Six Trombones from the musical “The Music Man” by Meredith Wilson, arranged by Leroy Anderson and adapted by Jay Bocook; Trumpeter’s Lullaby by Leroy Anderson featuring Dennis Jones as trumpet soloist; Fantasy For Band by Frank Erickson; Florentiner March by Julius Fucik and edited by Frederick Fennell; SeaGate Overture by James Swearingen; Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite March by Karl King and arranged by Frederick Glenn Cliff Bainum; Music of The Beatles arranged by Michael Sweeney; Afterlife by Rossano Galante, Proud Heritage by James Swearingen; and America the Beautiful arranged by Carmen Dragon.
Next Week’s concert will feature the Taylorville Municipal Big Band.
