Pana Arrests
July 8, 2021:Matthew G. Beck was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle/atv. Beck was transported to Christian County Correctional Center.
Taylorville PoliceArrests
July 16:
Bryon Kay, Pana, was arrested by CCSO for theft and criminal trespassing.
Justin Sexton, Taylorville, was arrested by TPD for domestic battery.
July 17:
Chase Tilley, Mt. Auburn, was arrested by CCSO for DUI.
Joseph Foreman, Taylorville, was arrested by TPD for aggravated battery.
Accidents
July 10:
Two cars were damaged in
an accident at the entrance/exit of the Kroger parking lot, in the 200 block of East Bidwell at 10:26 a.m. According tot he Taylorville Police Department report, a car driven by Brian J. Sklenka, 51, of Taylorville was exiting the parking lot and reported to police he did not see the westbound pick-
up truck driven by John M. Sassatelli, 68, of Taylorville, and struck the vehicle. Both vehicles received damage but were able to be driven from the scene. No one was injured. Sklenka was ticketed for failure to yield to traffic.
July 9:
Two cars collided at the intersection of East Main Cross and North Cherokee at 4:46 p.m. A car driven by Mackenzie K. Graham, 32, of Taylorville struck the rear portion of a car driven by Seyfina C. Pocrnich, 19, of Taylorville. Neither cars were towed. Graham was cited for failure to yield at a stop inter- section.
July 8:
At 12:06 p.m., two vehicles collided in the 1500 block of Springfield Road. A car driven by John E. Pennell, 81, of Pittsfield was exiting a private drive on to Springfield Road and failed to yield while turn- ing left, striking a car driven by Susan G. Shaub, 69, of Taylorville. Drivers and pas- sengers were checked out by medical personnel at the scene, but all refused treat- ment. Pennell was ticketed for failure to yield while turn- ing left.
July 7:
Tracey J. Carley, 19, of Taylorville reported an inci- dent of her vehicle being struck by two bicyclists at 4:53 p.m. on North Webster St. and Bryant St. and rode away. Later, police located two male juveniles matching the description given to them. The youths said they were riding with fishing poles across their handlebars on the sidewalk and a beige car came close to them and their poles hit the car. They said they apologized to the driver. The report said due to con- flicting stories, officers were unable to determine who was at fault.
An International delivery truck, driven by Ramon L. Benton, 39, of Peoria, was damaged in the 800 block of West Park Blvd. at 2:26 p.m. Benton was making a deliv- ery to a home on the street when he heard a loud noise. The truck had struck a large tree branch which broke off and broke through the top of the box truck. The City of Taylorville Street Department responded and removed the branch from the truck. No one was injured.
