OPEN HOUSE PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING*

SCHEDULED BY

ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

FOR MACARTHUR BLVD

 

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be hosting an open house public informational meeting for the Phase I preliminary engineering and environmental study to improve MacArthur Boulevard from Wabash/Stanford Avenue to South Grand Avenue in Springfield.

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the project to the community, present a draft Project Purpose and Need Statement, review the existing conditions along the corridor, outline the anticipated project schedule, and gather public input. Exhibits, maps, and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously during the meeting. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend.

 

The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis with no formal presentation. IDOT representatives and the consultant engineering firm of Midwest Engineering Associates will be available to answer questions and receive comments about the project. Written comments can be accepted at the meeting, mailed after the meeting, or submitted via the project website at www.idot.illinois.gov/projects/Sangamon-county–Macarthur-Blvd

 

The meeting will be conducted according to the current guidelines from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Fully vaccinated attendees will not be required to wear a mask; however, individuals who are not fully vaccinated should plan to wear a mask.
