Melissa Pruemer joins the LiveWell Fitness team at Pana Community Hospital.
Pana Community Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Pruemer to the position of LiveWell Fitness Coordinator. Pruemer began her duties on August 2, 2021.
Pruemer graduated from Windsor High School and went on to Illinois State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. She comes to Pana Community Hospital from Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital where she worked as an Exercise
Specialist. Her focus at Sarah Bush was to provide personal training and health coaching to hospital employees and help patients post Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy to continue their exercise and improve their quality of life. Pruemer also worked alongside the bariatric team to help patients reach their weight loss goals.
As LiveWell Fitness Coordinator at Pana Community Hospital, Pruemer will serve in a variety of roles including per- sonal training, group fitness classes, employee health, and a variety of other duties. “I look forward to joining the LiveWell team and meeting the members at LiveWell. I love helping people feel their best through health and fitness!” stated Pruemer. “I am excited to offer new group fitness classes to the community. There is not a one size fits all method to fitness,” Pruemer added.
Growing the Silver Sneakers program is anoth- er important goal for Pruemer. “I am looking forward to working with our Silver Sneakers members and seeing the program grow. It is vital for seniors to remain active for both their physical and mental health.”
Pruemer has many skills to offer the LiveWell program. She is certified in the following:
– ACSM Certified Exercise Specialist
– ACE Certified Health Coach
– NASM Nutrition Coach
– ACE Orthopedic Exercise Specialist
– ACE Weight Management
Melissa and her husband, Josh live in Strasburg,IL. They have two boys Eli (age 6) and Owen (age 4). When she isn’t working, she loves to spend time with family and friends or take the boys fishing. “I encourage the community to stop by and say hello and let me know how I can help you on your health and fitness journey.”
