Jean Ninmer to be featured soloist at this week’s Muni Band Concert

TAYLORVILLE — This Wednesday, August 4, the Taylorville Municipal Band will return to the Christian County Fairgrounds for their concert. Mrs. Jean Ninmer will be the featured soloist – singing the Rodgers and Hart classic Blue Moon arranged by Warren Baker and playing clarinet on the lyrical and moving Theme from Schindler’s List by John Williams and arranged by Calvin Custer. The Muni Band will also be honoring long time director Jim Smith and emcee David Hixenbaugh.

Other selections will be: Anthem for Winds and Percussion by Claude T. Smith; Shenandoah, settling by Frank Ticheli; Undertow by John Mackey; Host of Freedom March by Karl King; Of Pride and Celebration by James Swearingen; The Footlifter March by Henry Fillmore; The Nineties arranged by Paul Murtha; and America the Beautiful arranged by Cameron Dragon. The concept begins at 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
