Mrs. Eva E. Guidani

November 6, 1934 — August 2, 2021

Mrs. Eva E. Guidani, 86, of Taylorville, Ill. passed from this life at 8:31 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2021 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 6, 1934 in Chinquapin, NC., the daughter of Frank and Rachel
(Lanier) Batts. Eva graduated from Chinquapin High School in
May of 1953. She moved to Washington DC where she was employed by the FBI. There, she met and later married Dominic Guidani on December 19, 1953 in Washington DC. They then moved to Tovey, Ill. On February 27, 1959 their son Keith was born. She was formerly employed at the Tovey Elementary School and then Christian County Cooperative Extension Service. Following Dominic’s retirement from Caterpillar in 1983, they moved to North Carolina where Eva retired from the Duplin County Sherriff’s Office.In December of 1999 they moved to Florida. Dominic and Eva moved back to Taylorville in 2005. Her beloved husband Dominic preceded her in death September 27, 2018.

Surviving are two nephews Mark (wife Anita) Lemanski of Taylorville, Ill. Michael Lemanski of Marissa, Ill., two great nieces Jennifer Prince and Amanda Lemanski one great nephew Wesley Lemanski four great great nieces and five great great nephews along with a sister-in-law Emma Guidani of Van Buren, Ark., special cousin Betty (Ferris) Brown of N.C., a special friend Susan Eckhoff of Taylorville, Ill. along with many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Keith in 2006, a sister in law Maxine Lake and a brother in law Alfred Guidani.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, Ill. Rev. Russ Burch from Taylorville Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is assisting her family with arrangements.
