TAYLORVILLE — The Taylorville Fire Department, as well as numerous other emergency services agencies through- out Christian County, responded to calls after a powerful thunderstorm ripped through the area Thursday afternoon. Here on Pershing Road on the southeast side of Taylorville, firefighters responded for several downed power lines, such as the one in the foreground. Numerous trees have been broken or uprooted and streets and yards are littered with branches from the winds which reached speeds of nearly 80 mph in the area.
