DECATUR — Meet hummingbirds up close at the Macon County Conservation District’s annual Hummingbird Festival on Thursday, August 26 from 4-7pm at Rock Springs Conservation Area. Join host Vernon Kleen to learn about hum- mingbird species, what attracts these birds, and watch as we catch, band, and release these wild birds.
Come for part of the evening or stay the whole time. Bring your lawn chair to the west lawn of Rock Springs Nature Center. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks or a picnic dinner. Festival attendance is free. Must pre-register online by noon on August 25 at MaconCountyConservation.org. Space is limited. This event is proudly co- sponsored by the Decatur Audubon Society.
