Norma Jean (Markwell) English

Norma Jean (Markwell) English, 89, of Highland, Calif., formally of Mt. Auburn, Ill., passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 6:22 p.m. Norma was born January 6, 1932 in Blue Mound, Ill., the daughter of Ollie and Lucille (Kearns) Markwell.

She graduated from Mt. Auburn High School class of 1949. Norma worked at Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Calif. as a nurse and nurse anesthetist in the emergency department retiring after more than 35 years.

Norma is survived by her daughters: Laura Messmore and Jonni (Bruce) Borg of Highland, Calif.; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters: Wilma Levoy of Live Oak, Texas, Shirley (Robert) Fisher of Mt. Auburn, Ill., and Janice (George) Masannat) of Bowling Green, Ky,; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Dora (Art) Ferdon, of Chicago, Ill. and Sharon (Carl) Pilh, of Puyallup, Wash.
