KINCAID — With all the challenges football programs across the state faced, Buddy Brown and the South Fork Ponies also had the daunting task of playing 8-man football for the first time. They adjusted to the new line-ups rather well and are looking to improve on their 5-1 mark from the spring.
“It was wild and fast, not to mention it was also our first season in 8 man football,” Coach Brown said. “We adjusted better than expected and we are looking to build on that success.”
Brown does have a challenge on his hand with six of eight starters on offense graduated.
It will be challenging replacing the senior class,” he said. There are a few that have stepped up early and showing promise.
Those players include senior quarterback, CJ Henley; junior running back Jayce Thomas; junior center Joey Patterson; and junior wideout Drew Purple.
The Ponies open the season Saturday, Aug. 28, hosting Decatur LSA at 6:00 p.m.
