TAYLORVILLE — Taylorville Police Chief, Dwayne Wheeler, confirmed there was a bomb threat at Taylorville High School this morning. “At 10:40 a.m. a note was found in a bathroom at Taylorville High School indicating ‘The school would blow up at 11 a.m. today. The high school staff enacted the proper protocol and reported the incident to TPD. Police and fire units were dispatched to the location and all students and staff were moved to two separate safe locations, as part of that protocol. The entire school was checked and no bombs were found. A juvenile suspect is in custody and the scene is being processed, as well as interviews are being conducted. In addition, we will be contacting our States Attorney for any charges to be filed,” said Wheeler. Two emergency personnel standby in the circular drive of the high school near a Taylorville Fire Department vehicle during the search.
