Conservative values
As a Republican, I would like to ask my fellow Republicans a few questions. What ever happened to our true Republican conservative values? Do you really believe that Donald Trump is a conservative? Do you really believe that Donald Trump is the only one who can solve the problems that we face in this country? Do we, in our party, have no true conservatives who could run for the highest office in the land, and beat Joe Biden? While I understand the outrage against “politics as usual” the initially propelled him to the Presidency, is there no one else in our party that is a true conservative and that we can elect to run against, and defeat Joe Biden? Is there no one else less polarizing, that would be more appealing to Independents and moderate Democrats? As a true conservative, I find this a very scary situation for our party to be in. So I would like to ask again, Is there truly only one?

Misinformation
To the author of “Deadly Virus”. The vaccine CAN kill you, so says the CDC. 6,968 deaths as of 8/23. There are people on the left that think spreaders of misinformation should be jailed.
Against ERT
No wonder the SO has been so skimpy lately, one must give an email address to submit. Why would that be important? Anyway, I’m 100 percent against a TPD ERT squad. A SWAT by any other name is still a SWAT and there is no need for this in Christian County or Taylorville. It’s just more boys and their toys and now with private funding. It would be nice to know who the local company is providing the money. I have been regaled with many fire fighter stories enough to know they don’t want to see any death and destruction but they get a charge out of going on the calls, it’s natural. Same with SWAT’s but they’ll be carrying all sorts of small arms. Too much room for error.
First warning
Please look at the Illinois Board of Education website. There are a number of schools who have received their first warning for not following the mask guidelines. The second warning will result in loss of scholastic bowl, science fair, band contests, choral contests, and athletics. These kids want to be in school, they want to have as much a normal school year as possible. Parents with seniors, if we get sanctioned, we lose accreditation to, this would be very SAD!!! This small percent that is all up in arms about controlling their kids, need to think about the penalties for everyone. Hope the School Board is strong enough to stand their ground. One more thing glad everyone went on their vacations with no masks, but have you looked at the numbers in those vacation spots? Several schools in Florida are back to eLearning. These kids don’t care about masks, let them wear them and go back to school! I feel strongly they will put up with it to get to stay in school!
