JACKSONVILLE—In a match moved from Auburn’s Edgewood Golf Course to Jacksonville’s Link Golf Club, Taylorville’s girls linksters went 1-2 in a quad- rangular contest with Auburn, Pittsfield and South County (Waverly-Franklin). Auburn, acting as the host school took the match with a 197-team total led by Shelby Seiler’s meet best 43. Taylorville own Sophia Robinson was close behind with a score of 45.
Following the Trojans was Pittsfieldwith a 202, The Tornadoes with a 219 and South County’s 237. Morgan Wright had her season best for THS with a 52 followed by Kaydee Prose with a 59, Hallie Lowis 63 and a pair of 64’2 from freshmen Laura Wayman and Sydney Lowis.
“We are definitely getting
better with each match,” THS Coach Jeff Hill com- mented. “We are so very young and the newcomers are starting to really get the feel of the game,” Hill added. Taylorville has a busy remainder of the week with a quadrangular match at Pana’s Oak Terrace Golf Course on Thursday against the hosting Panthers, Willamsville and Gillespie. Friday sees the Tornadoes traveling to Hilsboro Country Club for a 5-team contest with the Hiltoppers, Auburn, Gillespie and Vandalia. All matches begin at 4pm.
