Pana girls host quad golf outing at Oak Terrace

PANA—”What a beautiful day for golf,” said event coordinator and Pana head golf coach Adam Metzger.
The Panthers hosted a quadrangular meet at a soggy Oak Terrace Golf Course Thursday. Williamsville took team honors with a 4-player total of 199.
Taylorville, led by meet medalist Sophia Robinson’s 45, was a distant second with a 227 total. Pana finished in third place at 242. Gillespie trailed the field finishing at 263.
Oak Terrace’s 2,523-yard front nine played extremely long,” said Tornadoes head coach Jeff Hill. “With all the rain that has come through the Central Illinois area lately, the course was wet and the rough was thick.” Following Robinson for THS was Morgan Wright with a 52. Leading the way for the Panthers was Kassie Weideman with a 57. Low golfer for the winning Bullets was Sophia Zinn with a 47.
Taylorville will be in action today when they travel to Hilsboro Country Club for another quadrangular meet with Hilsboro, Auburn and Vandalia.
For the panthers, they will host Lincolnwood and Decatur Eisenhower at Oak Terrace on Tuesday, Sept. 7. At Pana Oak Terrace (2523-yards)

In the boys portion of the meet, Macon Meridian and Greenville were the oppo- nents for the Panthers.
Pana took the top spot with a score of 183. Greenville was second at 217 and Meridian placed third with a score of 225.
Pana’s top golfer was Austin Karbach. Karbach, finished with a score of 35. R yan Karbach was close behind at 46. Jaxon Rhoades and Owen Spracklen both finishing at a score of 51.
Pana looks to continue its winning ways on Tuesday, Sept. 7, when they face Staunton, Carlinville and Mt. Olive at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Auburn.
