The Taylorville High School Cross Country team traveled to Rochester on Saturday morning to participate in the Rochester Invitational. There were 10 schools in the girls meet and 13 for the boys portion.
The boys race was off first and the Tornadoes finished second with a total time of 1:25:47. The average pace was 17:10 and running the 3-mile trek.
Leading the way for Taylorville was Even Morgan, finishing the race in 16:31.
Coming in first was Rochester with Williamsville third to round out top three.
Next up were the girls teams and the Tornadoes finished with a total time of 1:26:07 and an average pace of 23:19. The Tornadoes finished in seventh place.
Top runner nods for the girls was Ella Goodman finishing the race in the time of 21:07.
The next meet for the boys will be at home this Thursday, Sept. 9, and the girls will tavel to Springfield on Saturday, Sept. 11.
