Taylorville Tornadoes breaks Hearts in volleyball victory

TAYLORVILLE — The hometown Taylorville Tornadoes hosted the Effingham Flaming Hearts Tuesday night.
The volleyball team looks to be finding their groove in only the second home game of the year with the Tornadoes sweeping the visiting both of the games of the match, 25-15, 25-11.
The team was lead by Abby Heberling and Summer Brandis. The seniors finished with a strong stat line but more importantly maintained the speed of the game. Brandis facilitating the ball game in and game out finished the match with 14 assists. Passing the ball to her teammates which included Heberling who finished the two games with 5 kills. On defense she added 2 blocks to aid the team to victory.
Helping however they could, Hannah Clayton and Elle Richards had some smooth aces. With the junior Richards’ coming back to back the second game. Both of the games and the night belonged to Taylorville and the players made that known. Taylorville will be traveling on the road this Thursday to challenge Charleston. The varsity match should begin about 7:00 p.m.
