Rose Marie Bell (Frisina)

Rose Marie Bell (Frisina) passed from this earth on September 7th in Taylorville, Ill. Born January 5, 1925 to Domenic and Marie Frisina in Taylorville, Ill. Rose Marie was an accomplished musician, playing several percussion instruments including the marimba and the drums. She was a graduate of USC and loved to support her teams from the comfort of her recliner. Known as “the purple lady” because she didn’t go a day without wearing purple, Rose Marie was a well-respected member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a pioneering business woman as the owner of Frisina drive-ins, theaters and a hotel in the community. Rose Marie was preceded in death by her daughter Melodie Rose Bell. Rose Marie is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Williams of Taylorville, Ill. and Steven Barry (Brandi) of Texas; and three great grand-daughters; Brianna Molden and Jazmin Molden of California and Cynna Kabrud of Taylorville, Ill. Rose Marie is also survived of seven great- great grandchildren Jack, Nathan, Aria, Melodie, Hailey, Laura and Levi. Rose Marie touched the lives of so many people and she is dearly missed. Due to the Covid pandemic, a private service will be held for the family and close friends.
