PETERSBURG – Once again it was the overall team depth of Auburn that enabled the Trojans to get past Taylorville, Porta and Lincolnwood in a quadrangular golf match at Petersburg’s Shambolee Golf Course Thursday afternoon. Auburn totaled a team score of 204, fol- lowed by the Tornadoes with 218, Porta 247 and Lincolnwood 252.
Match medalist honors went to Taylorville’s Sophia Robinson, as the junior shot a 47 to lead al;l golfers on the par 36, 2,624-yard track.
The Tornadoes, 9-12 on the season are idle until Thursday, Sept. 16, when they go to Pana’s Oak Terrace course for a sched- uled triangular with the host Panthers and Effingham St. Anthony. The match begins at 4:00 p.m.
