For: Sidewalk Improvements for Safe Routes to School
The Village of Kincaid and Chastain & Associates LLC will hold an Open House regarding a proposed pedestrian path funded by the Safe Routes to School Program. The Open House will be held at the Kincaid Village Hall, 115 Central Ave., Kincaid, IL 62540 on September 27, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend this meeting. Persons with a disability planning to attend this meeting should contact and notify Marla O’Dell, listed below, if any special accommodations are required. The meeting room is accessible to persons with a disability.
The proposed improvements primarily consist of the construction of ADA compliant concrete paths along existing right-of-way on North Ave, Richardson Ave, Tower Place, Prairie St., and Glen St. surrounding the Southfork Elementary School and the Southfork Junior High School. Working away from the schools, other sidewalk improvements may be included as necessary. Grade crossings in the area will also be improved for mobility. All proposed improvements will meet the American Disability Act requirements and ensure a safe route to school and pedestrian environment for all students. Additional right-of-way and easements are not anticipated to construct the proposed concrete path.
The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis with a brief project summary on the status of the project. Representatives of the Village of Kincaid and Chastain & Associates LLC will be present at the Open House to discuss any project details and answer individual questions. Verbatim comments will not be recorded. Written comments will be accepted and placed into the record. Preliminary maps and aerial photography will be available for inspection and viewing during the entire time.
