Panthers volleyball team beat Shoes

TEUTOPOLIS — In non- conference action on Tuesday, the Pana Panthers volleyball team defeated the Teutopolis Wodden Shoes in two sets 25-20, 25-21. Pana improves to 14-3 on the season.

Pana had 27 kills in the match, led by Jillian Hamilton and Chloe Ashcroft with 7 and 6, respectively. Lainey Hicks got 5 kills and Rachel Holthaus, 4. Holthaus and Emily Blackwell each made 10 assists with Olivia Anderson and Kady Perry, one each.

Holthaus led the team with 10 service points and an ace. Blackwell had 4 service points. Hamilton made 7 digs with Kiley Ladage

The JV Panthers were also winners, 25-19, 25-10 and the freshmen completed the sweep with a 26-24, 25-10 victory. Pana’s JV squad has a 6-1 mark and the freshmen stand at 6-3.

Pana is home Thursday evening to host South Central Conference rival Staunton, starting with the freshman match at 5:00 p.m. Pana has a 2-0 standing in the SCC.
