Thomas M. Kell
January 18, 1952 — September 25, 2021
Mr. Thomas M. Kell, 69, of Hamburg, Ill. formerly of Bulpitt, Ill. and Cadiz, Ky., passed from this life at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at home with family by his side.
He was born in Taylorville, Ill. Friday, January 18, 1952 the son of Thomas E. & Anna (Pagliai) Kell. He graduated from South Fork High School.
Mr. Kell married Bonnie Freeman on April 1, 1981 in Springfield, Ill.
Thomas worked many years at Freeman Crown II Coal Mine near Virden, Ill. retiring as a Mine Superintendent. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished spending time with family. Following retirement Mr. and Mrs. Kell moved to Cadiz, Ky. where Thomas was an active member of St. Stephens Catholic Church. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and served as Grand Knight of the K of C of the St. Henry and St. Stephens Catholic Churches in the Cadiz, Ky. area. Thomas was also a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, Golden Pond, in Cadiz, Ky.
Surviving are: his wife Bonnie Kell of Hamburg, Ill., three sons Leslie C. (Ruth) Burtle, Dale A. (Marcie) Burtle, Jeffrey A. Burtle, three daughters Tammy L. (Richard) Neely, Bekki I. (Thomas) Frey, Penny M. Huff, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister Dolores Byrne of Bulpitt, Ill. sisters- in-law Donna, Susan, Connie and Cate, brothers-in-law Alvin and Charles, many nieces and nephews and a great many friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, October 1, 2021 with a Catholic Rosary and Prayers said to conclude the visitation at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, Ill. Visitation will also be held from 10:30 A.M. to 11:00 before his Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Aurora, Ky. Fr. Greg Trawick will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery, Aurora, Kentucky. Kings Funeral Home in Cadiz, Ky. is assisting his family with the Kentucky arrangements
