Would someone tell me why our 2021 Homecoming Court and Dance have not been on the front page of the paper? I have seen South Fork and Pana, but not Taylorville. I would think we would be priority ONE. Our kids certainly deserve any publicity they can get after the last year they have endured. This is an event in a year they can ever recover. Let’s get them some LOVE!!!!
(Editor’s Note: We would also like to publish a photo. However, we have reached out to many different people requesting the photo, but so far, no luck. We will keep trying.)
Sure seems like the school board knew exactly who they wanted without giving others a chance. I think it is time this community starts stepping up and asking questions about many things such as why do we have so many administrators, why are we paying double for special ed when we haven’t been released from the NPT, why are we holding chili cook offs in the schools and allowing people to not do their jobs while they “taste test”, why are we spending money to provide tshirts for certain groups of teachers and board members, where is all of this money coming from. There must be accountability and it is time for more than one community member to speak up at meetings. One person cannot do this alone.
Right now, corporations and the ultra-rich are spending millions to derail President Biden’s Build Back Better plan. Behind the scenes, they’re hard at work to keep our elected officials from helping our country recover from the pandemic. Poll after poll tells us that Biden’s plan is full of things people want: lower drug costs, greater access to health care, a green econo- my, and restorative invest- ments in our communities. Three out of four voters sup- port this infrastructure bill and budget, yet corporations are fighting tooth and nail to stop it. Why? It’s because the wealthy few, after trillions in tax cuts and give- aways during the last administration, want inequality to be a permanent part of American life. They want the gap between them and us to seem normal ‘ along with dirty water and air, rising temperatures, and unaffordable homes, education, and health. The sad thing is it’s paid for by increases in taxes on the wealthy thus the total lack of support from the Republican Party.
More proof they don’t give a D – – N about regular folks like you and me. Never have. Never will.
Is there a possible way we may receive our paper. Most nights it’s impossible to read it. Have had to put something heavy on it to straighten it out. Some of friends have said they read it the next day; but don’t remark why. I’ll tell you why: impossible to hold it properly to read. Other paper are folded. I do think this is easily remedyed. A loyal customer for years!
Editor’s Note: This is easily remedied! Please call us at the office so we can help you. WIthout knowing who you are, we cannot address the issue. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we hope to hear from you soon.
