ball team stayed in Moweaqua on Thursday night, defending their home court in two close games with conference opponent Shelbyville. The Raiders had their hands full as they duked it out to the end but went on to drop the match to the Rams, 25-19, 25-23.
The Raiders kept up with the pace of the Rams with seniors Marissa Snearly and Rainey Mitsdarffer combined for 21 digs in the match. Makenzie Smith added 10 more to the total. The senior also had 4 kills along as well.
Mistakes added up for the Raiders, as they were ultimately unsuccessful in slowing the Rams. The home team could not seem to finish in the games. Unforced errors such as service and attaking, resulted as missed opprotunities proving fatal in both games 1 and 2.
With the Raiders failing to secure the victory, they fall to 15-16 for the 2021 regular season. Their next match-up will be the Raiders last home match of the season against Auburn on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
