Blanche Lefever

February 7, 1924 — October 16, 2021

Blanche Lefever, 97, of Edinburg, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Blanche was born on February 7, 1924, in Stonington, the daughter of John and Dora (Mills) Blair. She married LaVerne R. “Dutch” Lefever on January 9, 1947, in Palmyra, Mo and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2010.

Blanche was a homemaker and enjoyed word searches, old Westerns, working in her yard, and square dancing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaVerne; daughter, Sheila; son-in-law Curtis Wingo, Jr.; and three sisters, Velma Berroyer, Ruth “Poofy” Yeaman, and Shirley Fesser.

Blanche is survived by her son, Michael Blair; spouse Marsha (Mason) Blair of Normal, Ill., and daughter Vicki Yonker, spouse Joseph Yonker of Edinburg; grandchildren Debra Wingo of Ogden, Ill., Jennifer Yonker, of Edinburg, Kevin (Uyen) Wingo of Champaign, Stephanie Funderburk of Morrisonville, Susan (Mike) Queisser of West Chicago, Steve (Annetta) Blair of Bloomington, and Scott (Jen) Blair of Normal; great grandchil- dren, Deanna and Elizabeth Wingo, Carley and Tessa Funderburk, Elizabeth, Grace, Sam, Annie, Anthony, Jaiden, Kylie, and Emma Blair and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 21, 2021 from 11:00AM until the time of the funeral service at Noon at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 109 E. Washington Street, in Edinburg. Burial will follow at Edinburg Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Edinburg United Methodist Church or the St. Joseph’s Indian School.

    God bless the soul of Blanche. She lived a long happy life and was so good to her family. May she rest in peace.
