TAYLORVILLE — New assistant Taylorville Fire Chief Nick Hackney and firefighter Andrew Watson took the oath of office at Monday night’s Taylorville City Council meeting in the Municipal Building.
The Taylorville Planning Commission’s recommendation for off street parking included that concrete be taken off the parking lots and replaced with asphalt. After the recommendation was made, an ordinance amending the city code regarding off-street parking was passed unanimously.
A memorandum of understanding between the City of Taylorville and five other police departments was approved. This includes members of the Taylorville, Edinburg, Assumption and Kincaid police.
Also approved at the meeting were Mayor Bruce Barry’s appointment of Heather Sutton to the Taylorville Library Board. Two special event permits were approved. They include one for Cork N Keg for a block party for Halloween and the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or the 12th Annual 5k Fun Run and Turkey Trot on Nov. 27, 2021.
The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m. The next regular meeting will be held November 1, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
