CAM 2021 season ends in Regional loss to WSS

MOWEAQUA—The Central A&M Raiders concluded the season with a loss to a well-oiled Windsor Stew-Stras team in the semi- finals of the Class 1A Regional on. Playing at home on Wednesday night the Raiders fell to WSS in two sets, 7-25, 10-25.

The Raiders were on defense most of the match as WSS controlled the tempo of the match from serve to attack. WSS’s aggressive serve limited Central’s attacking options and too many unforced errors made it difficult to find momentum to build upon.

“Although our season has come to an end, it was rewarding to see this team build on their strengths and improve on their areas of need”. Head Coach Vanessa Rork commented after the loss.

e year were defeating Tuscola two times, earning second place at the Carlinville tournament, two players Marissa Snearly & Julia Corzine appointed to the All-Tournament team at Carlinville, and competing in an amazing, hard-fought match the first round of regionals against Tuscola. The team should be proud of their accomplishments.

”Players to highlight for the Wednesday loss to WSS are Marissa Snearly and Julia Corzine. The senior- junior pair combined for4 assists and 5 digs.

Rork added. “Our six seniors must be commended for their dedication to our program and love for the game of volleyball”. The Raiders finished the 2021 season with a 17- 18 record.
