BULPITT — Christian County Coroner Amy Calvert-Winans has identified the victim of a fatal crash on Saturday night in Kincaid. Lori McTaggart, 48, of Edinburg died as a result of the crash at the scene.
Illinois State Police report at approximately 7:09 p.m. Saturday, McTaggart was eastbound in 2018 Jeep Wrangler on Illinois Route 104 near James St. in Kincaid. Her Jeep apparently moved into the westbound lane to pass a vehicle and into the path of a Caterpillar tractor wheel loader, driven by 22-year-old Steven J. Mann, Jr., of Kincaid. The Jeep caught fire while the tractor tipped over on its side.

Winans said an autopsy was conducted on Sunday, Nov. 20, in Bloomington. She said the cause of death was multiple blunt trama injuries. Toxicology results are pending according to the coroner.
