CAM falls to Carrollton Hawks in Semi-Finals, 28-14

MOWEAQUA—The hard-nosed Raiders of Central A&M hosted the high flying Carrollton Hawks on Saturday. The game being held in Moweqeua on a sunny yet slightly chilly day made beautiful weather Central A&M could not contain the visiting Hawks number one rated offense. of the Raiders and Hawks game was an evenly matched half. The Raiders kicked off to begin the game. They failed to stop Carrollton on the open- ing drive as they marched down the field. Hawks QB Grant Pohlman threw the 11-yard pass to Harley Angel strike first eating up most of the first quarter.

CAM struck next in the second quarter with sophomore QB Drew Damery leading the Raiders down the field and senior wide receiver James Paradee punching in with the 1-yard WR run evening the score at 7 each. Damery ended his day with 13 for 20 pass comple- tions for 140 total yards.

The Hawks threw two long shots down the field finally punching in the ball for the quick score. The point after was good to make it 14-7 the Hawks with the advantage.

The Raiders scored just as quickly with another Paradee wildcat run. Paradee had 7 catches for 80 yards. The kick split the uprights evening the match again at 14 with 2 minutes left in the first half. This would be the last time the Raiders would reach the end zone in the 2021 season.

The Hawks go on to score two more touch- downs and get a safety in the fourth quarter on an intentional grounding call in the end zone. Junior linebacker Will Thompson led the Raider defense with eight tackles and four assists. Along- side him with six tackles was running back/ linebacker Brody Barnes.

The junior also rushed ten times for 69 yards.

Central A&M fall to the Carrollton Hawks 28-14 in the fourth round of the playoffs. Congratulations to the 2021 Raiders for a terrific season.
