THS can’t compete with Trojans; fall 65-47
TAYLORVILLE—The Tay- lorville Tornadoes played host to the Charleston Trojans for the boys bas- ketball game on Monday night. Taylorville seemed to be just behind their op- ponent never quite gaining the advantage on the Tro- jans. They went on to drop the conference matchup by a score of 65-47.
“Charleston played really well. Sometimes you gotta tip your cap to the bet- ter team.” explained Tay- lorville’s head coach Ryan Brown. “We have to do the things we can control a lit- tle better.”
Taylorville, never hav- ing the lead in the Monday night match, played better than the score depicts with seniors Kamren Heimsness and Bryce Friedrich leading the team in the points de- partment with a combined 29 points. The pair also earned 24 out of the Torna- does 36 rebounds. Junior Will Bitschenauer hit three 3-pointers giving him 9 total points. Senior Dylan Brown had 7 points and rounding out the scoring for the Tor- nadoes was Myles Clayton with 2 points.
The Tornadoes will go for win number two against the undefeated Lincoln Railsplitters. The game will be in the west gym and tip off will be at 7:30.
