Lincoln splits Tornadoes at home; 40-32

The Tornado boys basketball team played host to the conference opponent Lincoln Railsplitters on Tuesday night. Sticking along side the 6-0 undefeated rival all the way until the end of the contest. Taylorville could not pull in a win as they go on to drop their third straight loss giving the Tornadoes a record of 1-4 on the season.
Bryce Friedrich and Will Bitschenauer lead the team in points against the Railsplitters. The senior/ junior combo impacted the game with 25 of the teams 32 points. Friedrich was dominant on the glass coming down with a slue of offense and defensive rebounds finishing the game with 15 total.
The 3-point specialist, Bitschenauer, smacked 4 shots from beyond the arch. Seniors Luke Markwell and Kamren Heimsness rounded out the scoring with a combined 7 points.
Taylorville lead in scoring for the first and fourth quarters but only put up two points in the disappointing third.
The Tornadoes will stay at home yet again for Thursday’s match. The game will be against another conference opponent, the Mattoon Grenwave. The Tornadoes, who haven’t faired well against their own conference, is 0-2 in Apollo games. The ‘Wave is 5-2 this season and 2-1 in the conference.
