Missing woman found; reunited with family
(TAYLORVILLE) — Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp has announced the 71-year-old rural Palmer woman who was missing from her home since Monday has been located. She has been reunited with her family.
The Sheriff said St. Anne police located Rebecca L. Arkebauer about 9:00 a.m. this morning. St. Anne is a town in Kankakee County, approximately 20 miles southeast of the city of Kankakee. It is located on Illinois Route 1.
She was reported missing about 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Family members told
authorities she was showing signs of Alzheimer’s Disease. She was driving her red, Ford Escape when she was located. Kettelkamp said there was an enormous amount of miles put on the vehicle.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Illinois State Police, Illinois State Police Air Operations, Illinois State Police DCI-Zone 4, Illinois State Police Silver Search, Iroquois County, Kankakee County, St. Anne Police Department, and all local agencies who assisted in searching for Rebecca.
