The Taylorville Board of Education will meet in regular session Monday, December 13, 2021 at 6 p.m. in the THS Cafeteria. Agenda includes: visitors, communications, consent agenda items: approval of 10/19/21 Bldg./Finance Committee meeting, 11/8/21 public hearing and regular board meeting, 11/16/21 Curriculum and PR Committee meetings and 12/1/21 Co-Curricular and Bldg. Committee Meetings; review and approve claims totaling $3,644,132.27; Treasurer’s report, consideration of personnel; old business: Strategic Planning Committee Reports, overnight THS Ag Dept. and FFA trip request for 7 students to compete at Nat Western Livestock Judging Contest in Denver, CO on Jan. 4-9, funding for the “#make it local” legal cause ($.84 per student) – this does not sign the district up for a lawsuit; rather supports districts, previous and future cases that incur legal costs to fight for our students’ rights for local control (the suits eventually result in class action and will benefit our students); consider Memorandum of Understanding re: evaluation procedures of teachers scheduled to be evaluated in 2021-22 school year; switch from Blue Cross Blue Shield to Health Alliance for employee health insurance eff. 1/1/22-8/31/22; New business: adopt 2021 Tax Levy, Aramark Food Service Program update; review/approve HLS amendment utilizing HLS Funds (elevator repair from 90), 1st Reading of ISBE Press Plus Policy Updates; review/accept 2022 school facility occupation tax-2022 distributions; action on request for THS Ag Dept/FFA Chapter for 9 students to compete at 4 different livestock judging contests that require overnight stays in 2022; act on retroactive overnight trip request for 6 members of the THS wrestling team who received pre-approval for contest requiring 7 am. weight in time in Pontiac on 12/11/21 chaperoned by Coach Smothers and Asst. Coach Emery; review/discuss FY23 school calendar draft; action on moving day of the week for board meetings from Mondays to Thursdays, Superintendent Report, closed session: litigation- basis for a finding shall be recorded and entered into minutes of closed meeting; security procedures, school bldg. safety/security, use of personnel and equipment to respond to an actual threat; purchase of lease of real property for use of the public body, adjourn.
Christian County Zoning Board of Appeals
The CC Zoning Board of Appeals will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 6 p.m. in County Board meeting room, 2nd floor of the Christian County Courthouse, Taylorville, IL. Agenda includes: application for Text Amendments addition to Zoning Code on page 32 under General Provisions 1-3-17 DC Transmission Lines and application for Text Amendment addition to Zoning Code on Page 32 under General Provisions 1-3-18 Agricultural Drainage Tile.
