PANA — Panthers vs Tornadoes. The classic Route 29 showdown took place in Pana Thursday night. The Panthers barley let Taylorville come up for air in the game holding them under twenty points. The final score of the onslaught was 52-18.

Pana asserted their veteran dominance over the youth of the Tornadoes early winning the tip off. By the time the first quarter had ended Taylorville was shaken up by the scrappiness of the Panthers. Each quarter was a one sided matchup with Pana coming away ahead with each one. The largest margin coming, just after halftime, in quarter three which Pana outscored Taylorville 15-4.

Turnovers kept coming up to haunt the Tornadoes with a steal from Panther seniors Rachel Holthause here and a block from forward Jillian Hamilton there.

After outscoring their opponent 11-1 in the fourth quarter, the home team

Panthers were crowned winners of the battle of Route 29!
