Former Taylorville player, Olivia Pruitt, named CAC Player of the Week
Taylorville High School alumni and Cottey College guard, Olivia Pruitt, was awarded Continental
Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week this past weekend. Last Saturday, Pruitt put up 23 points going 9 for 16 shots all while snagging six boards in the 68-63 win over William Penn University of Iowa. The 5’6 sophomore has been at the forefront of the Comets bringing her team to a resurgent record of 6-10 record this season. Pruitt was a four-year player at Taylorville High School and second year collegiate player majoring in education. She uses her consistency to her advantage. She leads Cottey College Women’s Basketball team in scoring with 16.7 points per game while also averaging 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals. Olivia is the daughter of Rex and Rhonda Pruitt, Grand-Daughter of Rex and Donna Pruitt and David and Donna Adams who has supported her through and through every step of the way.
