Notice of Completed Reclamation

 

RLE Pawnee Properties, LLC, (RLE) 222 N LaSalle St, Ste. 705, Chicago, IL 60601, is the Permittee for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Mines and Minerals, Coal Mining and Reclamation Permit #405 located in Sections 10, 11, 14, & 15 T13N, R4W, in Christian County, Illinois. The permit for the 528.36-acre area was issued on 8/27/2008.

 

RLE has posted a $3,929,040 Bond for the 398.36 acres remaining under bond. RLE has filed an application for bond release on portions of the site that were affected by mining activity prior to 2008.  An applicable portion of the existing bond is being requested for release as follows: Phase I and Phase II release on 30 acres of low-capability land consisting of 15.4 acers of Pasture Land and 14.6 acres of Herbaceous Wildlife Habitat.  This request also includes Phase III release (100% of the remaining bonded amount) on 49.8 acres of low-capability land consisting of 28 acres of Pasture Land, and 21.8 acres of Herbaceous Wildlife Habitat.

 

Written comments or objections to the proposed bond release and requests for a public hearing, pursuant to 62 ILL. Adm. Code 1800.40(d), may be filed with the Department by any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by release of the bond, or the responsible officer or head of any Federal, State, or local governmental agency which has jurisdiction by law or special expertise with respect to any environmental, social, or economic impact involved in the operation or which is authorized to develop and enforce environmental standards with respect to such operations.  All written comments, objections and requests for public hearing shall be filed with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources-Office of Mines and Minerals-Land Reclamation Division, One Natural Resources Way, Springfield, Illinois 62702-1271 within thirty (30) days following the last advertisement of this notice.
