Routine matters for Taylorville City Council

Breeze-Courier Writer The Taylorville City Council held its regular meeting Monday night, Dec. 20. Mainly routine business

was conducted for this pre- holiday meeting.

First order of business was administering the oath of office to Chaz Deez and Ryan Tapp, the newest members of the Taylorville Police Department. Both officers graduated from the U of I Police Training Institute last week. Officer Tapp was a finalist for the academic award.

Among the consent agenda items approved by the Council were an ordinance to increase the fees charged by the city for sewer taps and sewer excavation permit fees. Also approved were several redevelopment agreements between the city and Kimberly K. Phares and Joseph R. Phares d/b/a SPD Detail Center, SM Capital, Christian County Integrated Community Services and Halla LLC.

Resolutions of support were passed for the Round Table Cafe and Rebuild Downtowns and Main Streets.

Mayor Bruce Barry praised Jeb Odam and Mike Coady for their dedication to giving relief to Kentucky. Congratulations was extended to the Taylorville 7th grade girls basketball team for their state championship win.
