CHRISTIAN COUNTY — The Regional Office of Education #3 Learning Express program held their December Group Connections recently in Christian, Montgomery and Fayette counties. The Birth to Three program held a scavenger hunt for their enrolled families. The families that were in attendance received a make-it-take-it craft stocking kit, a visit with Santa who also had a Christmas book for each child, a snack and a special family gift bag. Gift bags included items for a family movie/activity night—- a gingerbread house kit, corn puffs, a Christmas movie, hot chocolate and marshmallows, a developmental toy and their very own Christmas pajamas.
The Learning Express has purchased Christmas pajamas for several years with the donations from individuals. For the past two years, pajamas have been purchased for our enrolled children with memorial funds honoring our former team member, Amy Wyant, who passed away in August 2020. Because of Amy’s love for the families she served and Christmas, her family, The Follmers, have generously made memorial contributions to the Learning Express program. These contributions have helped us provide over 125 pair of pajamas for the past two years. The Learning Express staff and families greatly appreciate allowing Amy’s memory to live on by helping families create lasting traditions throughout this holiday season.
