Arrests
Dec. 29:
Taylorville police arrested Destiny Fisher, 23, for domestic battery.
Stephanie Weaver, 48, was arrested by Illinois State Police and charged with DUI.
Dec. 30:
George Bailey, 48, was arrested for vehicle theft and DUI by Taylorville police.
Jan. 1:
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Izac Varden, 19, for vehicle theft.
Accidents
Dec. 30:
Angela Peters, no age or town listed, was traveling southbound on County Highway 22 in Mt. Auburn Township when she failed to manage a curve. The vehicle struck the guardrail on the passenger’s front side. It was towed from the scene.
Jan. 2:
Alexandria Mills, no age or town listed, was northbound on 1800E Road near 1230N, when a big bird flew into the windshield of the vehicle she was driving. She swerved in reaction and went off the west shoulder of the road. She overcorrected and then went off the east side of the road and into the ditch. The front and rear driver’s side tires blew out while she was swerving out of control. The vehicle was towed from he scene.
Elizabeth Wolpert, no age or town given, was traveling southbound on County Highway 22
in Mt. Auburn Township when she hit a patch of ice, sending her vehicle off the
roadway to the right. Wolpert overcorrected and left the roadway on the east side and into a ditch, then into a corn field. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
