Kenneth L. Flemming, 91, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at SBL Fayette County Hospital, in Vandalia, Ill.

Private Services (due to Covid) will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, Ill, with Pastor Robert Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, Ill. Memorials: Hopewell Baptist Church, Pana, Ill., and/or Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, Ill. He was born December 3, 1930, in Nokomis, Ill.., the son of Kelsie Leroy & Mary Lee (Dooley) Flemming. Married Betty Lou Batton on April 29, 1952, in Pana, Ill, she passed away May 15, 2019. He worked for Caterpillar-Machinist Union for 42+ years, after retirement Kenneth obtained his CDL License and drove for several area businesses including Alliance, Vandalia Asphalt and Woolsey Bros.; He was a US Marine Corps veteran; Member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Pana, Ill., and Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, Ill. ;Temperance Lodge # 16, A.F.A.M. Vandalia; and Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447.

He is survived by: sons – Michael Flemming, Springfield, Ill., and Kerry Flemming & Terri, Decatur, Ill.; daughter – Tina Frailey & Doug, Vandalia, Ill.; 8 Grandchildren; and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: his parents; son – Reed E. Flemming; and 1 sister – Luada Brandon.
