Lancers top ’Toppers, 48-45

Lincolnwood boys basketball team faced off against Mt. Pulaski on at home on Tuesday night. The Lancers defeated the Hilltoppers is a heavily competitive matchup, 48-45.

Consistently getting better as the quarters wained on, Lincolnwood did an excellent job defending “The Woodshed” against the Hilltoppers. The boys, who were down for the first two quarters, turned on the jets to finish the game strong outscoring the ’Toppers 48- 45. Junior Braden Whalen lead the Lancers in the scoring department with 28 points. Senior Will Jenkins too reached double digit points with 11 points and smacked three 3-pointers. Brady Schmedeke, Jonah Elvidge and Gabe Armentrout got in on the victory as well. The underclassman rounded out the Lincolnwood scoring combining for 9 points.

The boys next match will be Friday Jan. 7. The Lacers will make the jump to Nokomis to take on the Redskins.
