TJHS 7th grade defeats Effingham

The TJHS 7th grade girls volleyball team faced off against Effingham at home Wednesday night. The Tornadoes beat the Hearts in just two games. Both of the games ended with a score of 25-21.

The Tornado volleyball team opened up their doorstop play Effingham. The games were fairly even with Taylorville only winning by four points in both games. Serving and good defense was the name of the game for the Tornadoes on Wednesday. By the end of both games the home team had earned a staggering nine aces

and eight blocks. Nora Thomas lead the team in blocks with three. She also earned one ace and one kill. McKinley Simplekamp and Grace Rogers finished with four combined aces while Hope Kietzman had four aces of her own. Gianna Tarr and Molly Smith finished with a combined 3 blocks and two kills in both games. Ellsie Williamson rounded out the stat sheet with a block and a kill.

The Tornadoes 7th grade volleyball team will play at home tonight against Springfield Jefferson. First serve will be at 6:00 pm.
