Lancers trample the Shells, 37-29

RAYMOND — The Lancers boys basketball team hosted the Roxana Shells on Monday night. Lincoln wood was always one step ahead of their opponent holding the lead for the entire match. They defended their Raymond gymnasium and defeated Roxana by a final score of 37-29.

The Lancers were ready to play right out the gate holding the visiting Shells to a total of no points in the beginning first quarter. Sophomores Gabe Armentrout and Brady Schmedeke combined for a solid 9 points between the two. Braden Whalen had a game of his own notching 11 points. The 6’3 guard also had plenty of rebounds.

Up by three times their opponents score coming out of halftime in Lincolnwood’s favor, 18-6. Roxana’s leading scorer, Chris Walleck, had 12 in hopes to put his team on top. The effort would be completely shut down by a 6’1 senior forward. Will Jenkins went off scoring every chance he could get splitting the defense and powering his way to the rim he scored a total of 17 points in the contest.

The Lancers ended up on top and fighting their way to the non-conference victory, 37-29.

The 7-10 Lincolnwood Lancers will look ahead to this Friday. Their next game will be an away match- up against the winess 0-6 Mulberry Grove Aces.
