Panthers drop road contest
(WINDSOR) — The Pana Panthers boys basketball team suffered its third loss of the season on Tuesday night as they fell to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 51-49. Pana is now 22-3 on the season.
Pana got behind after one period, 14-9, and the gap was 4, 24-20, at halftime. Going into the fourth quarter, Pana grabbed a 39-37 lead.
The game was won at the free throw line as the Hatchets were 5-of-6 in the fourth quarter while the Panthers did not get a free throw attempt in the final 8 minutes. For the game, Windsor/Stew-Stras was 10-of-13 and Pana, 5-of-6.
Leading also scorers and the Panthers was Brenden Schoonover with 20 points and Devon Peebles had 17. Colin Schmitz put in 7 points while Drew Hackler added 3 and Kyle Kuhn scored 2 points.
Austin Wittenberg soccer 16 points to lead the Hatchets. They improve to 20-5 on the season.
