Voting continues in annual TCCU scholarship program
TAYLORVILLE — Seventeen senior students from Taylorville High School are depending on the votes of local residents to help determine the two (2) winners of $1000 awards in TCCU’s annual scholarship program.
The financial awards are to be used toward the students’ continuing education, whether it be at a trade school, community college or a 4-year university program.
According to TCCU President, Will Perkins, the winners of the $1000 awards will be determined by the number of votes cast in participating local businesses. For every
$10 a person spends in a business, they can cast one (1) vote for a registered student. There is no limit to how many stores shoppers can patronize, or how many times.
“Voting continues through February 28, so people still have plenty of time – and plenty of stores – to shop,” Perkins points out. “We encourage everyone to ‘think global, shop local,’ and support our communities’ small businessowners.”
