Kenneth R. Miller

December 31, 1928 — January 30, 2022

Kenneth “Kenny” R. Miller, 93, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at his home in Vandalia, IL.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 11, 2022, at First Baptist Church, Ramsey, IL, with Pastor Jeff Shouse and Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Ramsey Cemetery, Ramsey, IL, with Military Rites by Ramsey & Herrick American Legion. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, February 11, 2022, at the church (1 hour prior to the service). 

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fayette County Hospice and/or Fayette County Cancer Society. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.millerfh.net.

Kenny was born December 31, 1928 in Taylorville, IL  the son of George and Goldie (Cummings) Miller. He married Gwendolyn Rose ìDollyî  Basil on May 29, 1948, Taylorville, IL. 

Kenny was a US Navy veteran, worked 10 years as a coal miner and was active in American agricultural movement AAM and attended the rally in DC. It was Kennyís lifelong dream to become a farmer which he fulfilled for 57 years. He enjoyed his time in Florida being a snowbird. The comments most heard to describe Kenny are he never met a stranger and loved his family very very much. He was a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion both of Ramsey, IL.

He is survived by: wife – Dolly Miller, Vandalia, IL; daughters – Debbie Lay and Jim, and Becky Casey and Mike, all of Ramsey, IL and Pam Carpenter and Bobby, Highland, IL; daughter-in-law – Vickie Miller, Effingham, IL; brothers – Keith Miller and Mary Ann, Saint Jacob, IL and Larry Miller, Nokomis, IL; sister – Beverly Mack, Ormond Beach, FL; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.
Preceded in death by: parents; son – Thomas “Tom” Miller; brothers – Elbert and Delbert Miller; sisters- Alma Arntzen and Maxine Ellinger; and great-granddaughter –  Landry.
